BMW Motorcycle Air Filters

Your motorcycle's engine needs a clean ratio of air and fuel. Your air filters are responsible for the air involved in this process by catching dust, mold, sand, and other contaminants before they get to the cylinders.

These (typically) trapezoid components are easy to maintain. You'll only need to clean them and their airboxes when they look full with dust on their surface. A wet rag with soapy water is enough to do this. Also, a clean air filter inside a dirty airbox is just as bad as using bad air filters on your motorcycles.

It's ideal to replace your air filters within 12,000 miles or more, depending on the type of air filter you already have. Neglecting to clean and replace this component after such wear and tear would eventually lower the performance of your engine due to overheating and clogging.
